I am not a technical founder. For three years, I tried to build my SaaS by hiring agencies and freelancers. Every time I brought on a new team, the same thing happened: context evaporated.

Requirements went into a Jira board. Something else entirely came out. We weren't failing because the engineers couldn't code. We were failing because they didn't understand why we were building the product in the first place.

This is the translation problem. The chasm between a founder's vision and an engineer's execution.

Most dev shops sell you hours, lines of code, or velocity. But velocity in the wrong direction just means you build the wrong thing faster.
