01 — Who We Are

Akvasoft Oy is a company registered in Finland. We operate Akva.io as the application site for the Technical Co-founder Residency. When we say "Akvasoft," "we," "us," or "our" in this policy, we mean Akvasoft Oy. You can reach us at hello@akvasoft.com.

02 — What We Collect

When you apply through this site, you provide us with:

• Your name, email address, and phone number
• Your location (city and country)
• Your LinkedIn URL and GitHub or portfolio URL
• Your current role and track preference
• A short answer explaining why you're applying (500 characters max)
• Your pitch deck (.pdf, up to 10 MB)
• Your CV or resume (.pdf, up to 5 MB)

We do not collect payment information. We do not use cookies beyond what is technically necessary to serve the site. We do not run advertising trackers on this site.

03 — Why We Collect It

We use the information you submit solely to:

• Evaluate your application to the Technical Co-founder Residency
• Contact you about the outcome of your application
• Communicate with you if you are accepted into the programme

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties except where required to operate the application process (for example, the service we use to receive and store form submissions).

04 — Who Can See Your Data

Your application is seen by Akvasoft founders and team members involved in the selection process. No one outside Akvasoft sees your data unless you are accepted, in which case your details may be shared with mentors or partners directly involved in your programme.

We use a third-party form service to receive and store applications. That service processes your submission on our behalf and is bound by a data processing agreement with us.

05 — How Long We Keep It

If your application is not successful, we retain your data for 12 months from the date of your application and then delete it. We retain it for this period in case we want to revisit applications for a future cohort, and to keep a record of the process.

If you are accepted into the programme, we retain your data for the duration of the programme and for 3 years after it ends. After that, we delete or anonymise it.

You can ask us to delete your data sooner — see Section 07.

06 — Where Your Data Is Stored

Akvasoft Oy is based in Finland, which is within the European Economic Area (EEA). Your data is processed within the EEA. If we use a third-party service that stores data outside the EEA, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place under applicable data protection law.

07 — Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. You also have the right to object to processing, to restrict processing, and to data portability.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@akvasoft.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).

08 — Children

This programme is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have collected data from a minor in error, contact us and we will delete it.

09 — Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We will not retroactively reduce your rights without notice.
