APPLICATION TERMS

01 — What These Terms Cover

These terms apply from the moment you submit an application to the Technical Co-founder Residency operated by Akvasoft Oy. They govern the application process, the evaluation, and — if you are accepted — the conditions under which the programme runs. By submitting an application, you agree to these terms.

02 — What You're Confirming by Applying

When you submit an application, you confirm that:

• The information in your application is accurate to the best of your knowledge
• You are 18 or older
• You are currently based in Sri Lanka, or plan to be during the programme
• You have the right to share any documents you upload (pitch deck, CV)
• You have read and accept the privacy policy

03 — Intellectual Property

The idea you pitch belongs to you. Applying does not transfer any intellectual property rights to Akvasoft. Submitting a pitch deck does not give Akvasoft any licence to use, build, or share your idea.

If you are accepted into the programme and begin building a product, the IP arrangement for that product will be agreed separately in writing before the programme starts. The default is that the product IP belongs to you. Any investment or equity arrangement is a separate agreement negotiated when it becomes relevant — not at the application stage.

04 — No Guarantee of Acceptance

Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance into the programme. We review every application and respond within two weeks. We do not guarantee a minimum number of cohort places per cycle. We may defer all applications to a future cohort if we determine the timing is not right.

05 — How We Evaluate Applications

We evaluate applications based on the quality of the pitch, the applicant's demonstrated ability to ship, and the fit between the product idea and what's achievable in 12 weeks. We do not discriminate on the basis of gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic.

We may contact you for a follow-up call as part of the evaluation. Participation in any follow-up call is voluntary; declining will not automatically disqualify you, but it may affect our ability to fully evaluate your application.

06 — If You Are Accepted

If you are accepted, you will receive a separate programme agreement before the programme starts. That agreement will cover: payment terms, programme structure, IP ownership, confidentiality, and what happens at the end of the 12 weeks. Nothing in these application terms constitutes an employment contract or a binding programme agreement.

Payment is at market rate for your role and level in Sri Lanka, paid weekly or monthly at your preference. The specific amount is agreed at acceptance and confirmed in the programme agreement.

07 — Withdrawal

You may withdraw your application at any time before or after acceptance by emailing hello@akvasoft.com. There is no penalty for withdrawing. If you withdraw after acceptance but before the programme starts, you forfeit your place. If you withdraw after the programme starts, the terms in the programme agreement govern any payment or obligations.

08 — Limitation of Liability

Akvasoft is not liable for any costs, losses, or damages you incur in connection with applying to the programme — including costs of preparing a pitch deck or taking time off work to attend a call. Apply on the basis that you are making a voluntary investment of your time, with no guarantee of return.

09 — Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms at any time. The version that applies to your application is the one in effect at the time you submitted it. We will not retroactively apply new terms to an existing application without notifying you.

10 — Governing Law

These terms are governed by Finnish law. Any disputes arising from or related to these terms are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Finland. If you are based in Sri Lanka and a local mandatory consumer protection law applies, that law takes precedence to the extent required.
